Research is decisive at an institute of political science for several reasons. It provides in-depth analysis of the political, economic and social dynamics that underpin contemporary issues.  Insight from research can help leaders navigate complex decision-making processes and contribute to the development of more effective and suitable policies to meet society’s needs. Research enriches public debate by providing reliable analysis and data so that citizens can take part in democratic life. We believe that research in the social sciences is crucial to developing the knowledge necessary for democracy and social progress.

This commitment to strengthen our research policy has become a long-standing partnership with Université de Rennes and the Arènes Laboratory of France’s National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), establishing multi-year research chair programs that provide an identity and additional resources to cross-disciplinary teams conducting research in emerging fields. Our efforts have produced results: three operational research chairs have the potential to boost our appeal among Master’s and PhD students, as well as public and private partners interested in working with us on joint projects.
